Wooden Floor Maintenance

Ease of maintenance is one of a wooden floor’s main virtues. Regular modest care will keep your floor looking good – and lasting longer.

A lacquered floor will lose its lustre over time. It can be refinished with new coats of lacquer, after a light sanding down of the original surface.

Waxed and oiled wooden floors can similarly be swept, vacuumed and/or mopped on a regular basis, and buffed to maintain their shine. Maintain the floor in prime condition by a once or twice yearly application of wax – or a combination wax and liquid cleaner. Apply evenly across the entire floor, leave for 20 minutes to dry – and buff to the desired finish.
